How good is your memory?
Interactive Storyline game - Royal College of Physicians (2016)

Project background
To help promote our department at a Summer Staff Day, I came up with an idea to create a game, to entice people over to our stall and get them engaged with our team. The idea was to showcase the abilities and tools our department had to offer.
It ended up being a simple pattern memory game where people had to watch a pattern shown on the screen and replicate it by clicking the same squares. As the game progressed the patterns were shown for shorter times and got more complex.

Key goals of the project

The key goals of the project were to:
-
entice people over to our stall and engage them with a game
-
make it simple enough to pick up easily but increased in difficulty to provide some sort of challenge
-
make it fun and interactive and could involve anyone
-
design for PC and table use

My role
-
I developed and designed the whole game.
-
I used the YouTube tutorial from Swift eLearning services, to help me design the timer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hPdhcLl4xA
-
I have updated the original version to my own, so that it now contains generic branding.
The game was such a success, it ended up being hosted on our intranet site for a while, to allow other people in the company to compete and play and also resulted in our department being inundated with more projects the following months and raised our status within the College.
